
Programming the Volume Control Range
To support the handset volume control, VMMI provides the following programming choices:

Conform the following telephone models to volume control range increase requirements:
Impact SCS 8212S
Impact 8012S, 8112S, 8024S, 8124S
Impression 2022S, 2122S, 2122X
While the software allows these telephones (with the exception of the 8212S) to have a 13-step
handset volume control range, users can save either eight or 13 settings depending upon the a
programming choice that you make for the High Handset Volume feature. If you enable the
program feature, users can save a maximum of 13 handset volume settings. If you disable the
feature, users can save a maximum of eight settings. Find this programming action under the
Programming/Stations menu.

Support handset volume control for the Impact SCS 8201N and 8212N telephones.
These telephone models have an eight-step volume control range, and users can save either
five or eight of the settings depending upon a programming choice that you make for the High
Handset Volume feature. If you enable the program feature, users can save eight settings. If
you disable the feature, users can save five settings. Find this programming action under
Programming/Stations Menu/Class Of Service menu.

VMMI Backwards Compatibility
With release 13A, the current revision VMMI software can program earlier versions of the common
code base (CCB) databases in both on- and off-line modes of operation and leave that software at its
earlier revision. The earliest version of CCB software affected by this enhancement is release 12A.
