Exercise 7: Class of Service Programming
Pre-Setup Discussion
A Class of Service (COS) allows you to group several basic and advanced station features into
clearly defined groups. These programmed groups can then be associated with a single station or
group of stations in the Station Programming field.
There are 32 classes of service that you can define and assign to stations.
By default, there are only 2 active Classes of Service with assigned station features and default
parameters; COS 1(attendant) and COS 32 (Default). All other Classes of Service in the system
are either empty of any programming or are placed at the highest restriction or lowest possible
setting for that particular feature.
The Copy Class of Service programming feature allows the technician to choose a single COS as
a template and copy that template to as many different or undefined COS as desired. After
copying is complete, it is possible to go to each copied COS and specify what features will
define it as a unique COS.
Class of Service programming is located under the Station Menu tab under Programming.
When in the COS Programming field, it is possible to activate Copy Class of Service
programming by clicking on the Edit button and using the Copy Item command.
